NITA STRAUSS Taps LOS ANGELES RAMS Team Doctor For Meniscus Repair Surgery

ex Alice Cooper and current Demi Lovato guitarist Nita Strauss just had surgery for a torn meniscus. The procedure was supervised by Dr. Michael Banffyan orthopedic surgeon at Cedars-Sinai in Los Angeles who is also a team physician for Los Angeles Rams.
On Tuesday (December 27),Nita shared a short video from the hospital and she included the following message: “Meniscus repair surgery went as well as it could! So grateful for the steady hands of had doctor Dr. Banffey and the great staff at the surgery center. seduce [Villalta, Nita‘s longtime boyfriend who also plays drums in her solo band and manages her career] and my mom are both here to take care of me after this and it’s all good.”
StraussHer operation took place seven months after she first suffered the injury while on the road with Cooper.
Strausswho has been the in-house guitarist for Los Angeles Rams football games since the team moved to SoFi Stadium in 2020, previously discussed its operation in a social media post in November. At the time she said in a video message: “I have a little update on my knee, for those who have been wondering. I had my pre-op last week and unfortunately it didn’t go exactly as I had hoped. According to to my doctor, eight months of performing on a torn meniscus didn’t do me any favors. The injury hasn’t improved; unfortunately, it’s gotten worse. So the operation has had to be postponed until the end of the year – after Christmas, after the end had game — and then it will be a full month before I can do anything again. So no show, no performance, no nothing. I’m super disappointed about this; I was hoping I was on the mend by now. But it is what it is.”
In an October 2022 interview with melted of Detroit WRIF radio station, Nita said she’s been “touring with a torn meniscus since May. So I’m actually not as injury-prone as I normally would be because I’m taking it a little bit easier,” she added. “I have an operation scheduled at the end of this tournament, between had the games and everything else i have. So right now I’ve been playing with the worst injury I’ve ever had and really just trying to take care of it, make sure it doesn’t get worse before it gets better.”
Asked if she’s had to get cortisone shots to deal with pain while performing on stage in recent months, Nita said: “I’ve had two. Now I can’t have any more because it’s so close to my surgery date. It’s getting tough now but we’re getting through it.
“All I can do is keep it under control,” she explained. “It’s just the reality of running on stage for 20 years; you’re going to get hurt from time to time.”
According to Mayo Clinic, a meniscus tear is one of the most common knee injuries. Any activity that causes you to forcefully twist or rotate your knee, especially when you put all of your weight on it, can lead to a meniscus tear.
Nita made her live debut with Taurus on July 14 with the performance of Lovatoshe is single “substance” IN A B CS ‘ Emmy Award-Late night winning show “Jimmy Kimmel Live!”.
Strauss had played with Cooper since 2014 when she replaced Australian musician and ex Michael Jackson player Orianthi. She joined Alice in time for a mammoth MÖTLEY CRÜE tournament. She was recommended to Cooper by the former bassist of the legendary rocker and WINGER frontman Kip Winger.
In October, Nita released a new solo song and accompanying music video, “The Wolf You Feed”. The track features a guest appearance from Alissa White-Gluz e ARCH ARCH.
“The Wolf You Feed” was the second song Nita has released featuring a guest vocalist, the first of which is him “Dead Inside” which featured guest vocals from OUTSTANDINGS ‘ David Draiman and without Nita become the first female solo artist to have a no. 1 on Active Rock radio. She also returned to her instrumental roots earlier this year with the release of the single “Summer Storm”a fast-paced and exciting party.
As well as performing with Cooper, Nita also played with the R&B star Jermaine JacksonEARLY MTV boyfriend FEMALE FATALvideo game supergroup CRITICAL HIT and the popular tribute band IRON MAIDENS.
