Pizza City Fest Announces Inaugural Los Angeles Event at L.A. LIVE

The new event will feature nearly 40 popular pizzas over two days, plus a lineup of panel discussions and demonstrations, April 29-30, 2023

LOS ANGELES, Jan. 10, 2023–(BUSINESS WIRE)–Pizza City Fest Los Angeles announces stellar lineup for first-of-its-kind event to take place April 29-30, 2023 at LA LIVE – Downtown Los Sports District and Angeles Entertainment – offering fans the unique opportunity to sample pizza from Southern California’s best pizza makers, all in one place for two days.

Steve Dolinsky — a 13-time James Beard Award-winning food reporter and NBC 5 Chicago’s “The Food Guy” — has turned his love of pizza into an all-encompassing endeavor. He has written two books on the subject, launched a weekly tour business, hosts and produces the Pizza City podcast, and in the summer of 2022, presented the first Pizza City Festival in Chicago. The sold-out event showcased the region’s artisans and unsung pizza styles, while also showing guests what goes into making great pizza. Now he hopes to bring that same experience to Los Angeles and showcase the diversity—both in geography and style—that the region exemplifies.

“I’ve seen the LA pizza scene explode lately, having visited about 60 locations in research over the past year,” Dolinsky said. “But with so many great pizzerias spread from Santa Barbara to San Diego, there had to be a way to highlight these artisans all in one place. Not only are we going to do that, but we’re also bringing some of the most talented local pizza professionals to share their knowledge and expertise with home cooks.” By choosing to host the Los Angeles event at LA LIVE, Steve found a partner venue that is not only known for hosting world-class sporting and entertainment events, but also has a rich tradition of hosting iconic events. of the kitchen.

“We are extremely excited to welcome to LA LIVE the inaugural Pizza City Fest Los Angeles,” Lee Zeidman, President, Arena, Microsoft Theater and LA LIVE. “We’re proud to bring this unique event to downtown Los Angeles for the first time, partnering with Steve made perfect sense, and we can’t wait for pizza lovers from all over Southern California to descend on LA LIVE on April 29th and 30th.”
