Hailey Bieber struggled with ‘PTSD’ after mini-stroke

Hailey Bieber has opened up about how her mental and physical health has been affected since suffering a mini-stroke last year.

“I struggled with a lot of anxiety afterwards. I struggled with a little bit of PTSD, just the fear that maybe it would happen again,” the model revealed on the Run-Through with Vogue podcast on Thursday.

“It was just a feeling that I was, like, I never want to experience that again. It was so scary, so creepy, so weird in every way you could imagine.”

The Rhode Beauty founder, 26, added that the mini-stroke was “definitely the scariest thing I’ve ever been through”.

Bieber said she was in Palm Springs when she suffered the medical emergency last March, and returning to the area — even for the podcast — is “very exciting” for her.

“Even the first two times I came back here afterwards it was a little bit of a weird kind of trigger feeling for me because you just remember exactly how it all happened at that moment,” she explained.

“But I think the upside for me is that it made me discover that I had this hole in my heart.”

Now, Bieber said she is slowly starting to live her life again without thinking about what might happen to her health.

“I look back and it could have been a lot worse,” she said. “A lot worse things could have happened at that point.”

A month after Bieber was hospitalized, she revealed she had to undergo surgery to repair a hole in her heart after suffering a mini-stroke.

In a YouTube video titled “Telling My Story,” the former “Drop the Mic” host said doctors discovered she had a blood clot that traveled to her brain and caused a transient ischemic attack.

Hailey, who is married to music superstar Justin Bieber, said at the time, “I’m really relieved that I’m going to be able to move on from this really scary situation and live my life.”
