Prince Harry didn’t shy away from a dramatic make-up moment in his explosive new memoir, Spare.
In the forthcoming bombshell book, the Duke of Sussex recalls an “awkward moment” when Meghan Markle allegedly asked to borrow Kate Middleton’s lip gloss – a practice he called an “American thing”.

“Kate, startled, reached into her purse and reluctantly pulled out a small tube,” he wrote. “Meg squeezed a little on her finger and applied it to her lips. Kate grimaced.”
Harry, 38, added that the alleged incident – which he said happened before an appearance at the Sussex and Wales Royal Foundation Forum in 2018 – was something the couple “should have been able to laugh about”. but the press “realized” it was “something bigger”.
And which lip product were the women allegedly sharing? Maybe Middleton passed on a tube of one of her go-to lip perfectors, Clarins Natural Lip Perfector ($28).

After all, the product looks to be a must-have bag for Middleton, who was spotted slipping on the Rose Shimmer shade of lip gloss – which comes in a squeezable tube – at Wimbledon in 2019, marking a moment rare catch. – camera damping.
However, she is far from the first royal to love Clarins cosmetics, as Queen Elizabeth reportedly commissioned the brand to create a shade of red lipstick to match her coronation robes.

While Markle also attended Wimbledon in 2019, she may have been sticking to her lipstick designs at the time; after all, unlike the royal family, the former actress didn’t have to keep her lips sealed about her favorite products during her “Suits” days.
Her personal favorites include Fresh Sugar Lip Balm ($25) and Charlotte Tilbury Matte Revolution Lipstick in Pillow Talk ($34), the latter of which is also among Britney Spears’ favorites.
Markle’s style and beauty choices have certainly made headlines since she first entered the royal family, with polarizing sartorial choices including the Mother Tripper Ankle Fray Ripped Jeans ($278) she sported during her outing seen in public with Prince Harry at the 2017 Invictus Games.
Harry also mentioned the much-discussed spare denim, claiming the trousers were palace-approved.
