With its final performances on January 8, Broadway’s Beetlejuice becomes one of the Dead of the Main. The musical announced the end of its run last September and is currently on a North American tour traveling the country.

Tony nominee Alex Brightman reprises his role as the titular poltergeist opposite newcomer Elizabeth Teeter (The Crucible, The Audience) as Lydia Deetz. Brightman was recently sidelined from the production in its final weeks due to a concussion suffered during the performance, but has returned for the show’s final three evening performances. Researcher Andrew Kober plays the poltergeist in the January 8 matinee performance.

Based on the cult favorite by Tim Burton, the show debuted on Broadway at the Winter Garden Theater on March 28, 2019, opening on April 25, 2019. It earned eight Tony nominations and returned to the Broadway stage following the COVID-19 shutdown. This time it reopened on April 8, 2022 at the Marquis Theatre. Beetlejuice tells the story of Lydia Deetz, a strange and unusual teenager whose life changes when she meets a recently deceased couple and Beetlejuice, a demon with a streak. When Lydia calls on Beetlejuice to scare anyone with a pulse, this specter of double-crossing unleashes a wild (none) world.
