Greenwood outscored Andrews 22-14 in the second half to pull away and win Friday’s District 3-4A opener at Greenwood Gym.
Tatum Pierce led the Rangers (17-7, 1-0) with 15 points, while Conrad Morris had 11.
Bubba Hernandez scored 15 points for the Mustangs (6-15, 0-1).
Greenwood hosts Seminole on Tuesday at 7:30 p.m.

ARGYLE – Josiah Wray poured in 28 points and Zach Day chipped in with 19 to lead Midland Christian to a road win over Argyle Liberty Christian in Friday’s TAPPS 1-5A game.
Leading 23-15 at halftime, the Mustangs (17-14, 2-1) rallied to outscore the Warriors 32-25 in the second half.
MCS’s Andrew Fox added nine and Hunter Hamilton scored six.
The Mustangs host the Fort Worth All Saints at 7:30pm on January 20th.

GARDEN CITY – Fourth-ranked Irion County held off No. 9 Garden City in overtime to win Friday’s highly anticipated District 11-1A top-10 opener at Bearkat Gymnasium.
Tied at 37 after regulation, Irion County (15-1, 1-0) outscored the Bearkats 13-4 in overtime.
John Lopez led Garden City (22-4, 0-1) with 13 points, Julio Talamantes scored 10, Mason Walker scored nine and Texas Brinkley had seven.
Irion County led 24-12 at halftime.
The Bearkats visit Blackwell on Tuesday.

Trinity held off Fort Worth Temple Christian to win the TAPPS 1-3A opener during the Chargers’ home opener Friday at Beal Gymnasium.
Monty Campbell led the Chargers (1-3 in TAPPS 1-3A) with 14 points, Oliver Lauer and Hans Mauritsen both had eight and Tobias Slatken scored seven.
Trinity held off a late rally attempt by Temple Christian as it held a 35-27 lead through three quarters.
The Chargers host Weatherford Christian on Tuesday at 7:30 p.m.

Colleyville Covenant Christian Academy overcame a 23-21 halftime deficit to roll past Midland Classical with a 33-12 second-half run during a TAPPS 1-4A game Friday at The Realm.
Kam Armstead led the Knights (5-18, 0-5) with 12 points, while Nathan Swallow scored five.
MCA visit Willow Park Trinity at 8pm on January 20.

LENORAH – No. 22-ranked Grady opened District 8-1A play with a loss to Loop on Friday.
Grady’s Chapman Sims led all scorers with 23 points, Logan Aaron had 12, Quint Harrell and Blaise Warren each had seven and Austin Snider and Colt Carson both scored six.
The Wildcats (16-7, 1-0) outscored Loop 39-10 in the second half.

Grace Gardenhire led the Rangerettes (13-15, 3-0) with 12 points, Kodi Hartman scored 11, Allyson Jackson scored seven and Avree Turnage scored six.
Jayci Richters scored a game-high 12 for the Lady Mustangs (8-15, 0-3), while McKenzie Miller, Jesslyn Espinosa and Shanti Hernandez scored six each.
Greenwood hosts Seminole (17-7, 3-0) in a showdown of first-place teams in District 3-4A at 6 p.m. Tuesday.

LENORAH – Grady took a commanding 44-5 halftime lead and cruised to a shutout victory against Loop during Friday’s District 8-1A game.
Jessi Everett led the Lady Wildcats (15-7, 1-23) with 22 points, Sam Griffin scored 18, Emma Parker 13 and Mia Najera 10.
Grady went a perfect 14-for-14 at the free throw line.
