2023 Big East Tournament bracket, schedule: Live updates, college basketball scores, NCAA Bracketology

The Big East tournament begins Wednesday from Madison Square Garden in New York with six teams in action, each needing to make a run this week to have any hope of making the NCAA Tournament. The conference’s top five teams are all projected as at-large teams in Jerry Palm’s Bracketology, and each has a bye in Thursday’s quarterfinal round.

Headlining Wednesday’s action are No. 6 Villanova and No. 7 Seton Hall, each of whom have shown promise under first-year coaches this season but will likely need four wins in four days to made it to the Big Dance.

But the first match of the day between number 8 of St. John’s and No. 9 Butler will also be of interest after the teams split their regular-season series, which included a dramatic 68-66 Butler victory in which a potential game-tying bucket by the Red Storm was deflected after being set that it came after the last signal.

After that, the No. 7 Pirates play the No. 1 seed. 10 DePaul and the no. 6 Wildcats play the no. 11 in Georgetown to close out the first round action. It could potentially be Patrick Ewing’s last game to coach the Hoyas if Georgetown loses and the program decides it’s time for a coaching change.

Mix it all together and you have what should be one of the best conference tournaments in the country heading into Selection Sunday.
