Roborock debuts S8 robot vacuums with the S8 series

Roborock hit it out of the park with the S7 series of robot vacuums. This year, the company is looking to improve that lineup with the S8, S8 Pro ultra, and S8+. The new models bring a significantly better dock, new cleaning systems and improved cleaning with more suction.

As there are a multitude of robot vacuum cleaners on the market, Roborock has maintained a top spot in our ranking. The S7 series hits the nail on the head with its outstanding room and tracking detection, suction power and mapping capability.

The S8 series, however, is a step up from last year’s lineup. This year, the Roborock S8 consists of three separate installations, with the base model being the S8. The S8 has an improved absorption rate of 6,000 Pa, which is at the higher end of the spectrum. With this, the S8 series uses a dual rubber brush system, rejecting hair tangles on the roller and collecting more dust. As for cleaning, the S8 series is also equipped with VibraRise 2.0, an improvement on the previous iteration with a frequency of up to 3000 vibrations per minute.

The S8+ is the mid-range vacuum in the lineup. It has the same setup as the S8 with one big difference that makes it easier to set and forget. The S8+ has a dock that allows the vacuum to empty automatically after cleaning, whether it’s a room or the entire house.

At the higher end, the Roborock S8 Pro ultra not only has a dock capable of emptying dust, but it also empties and refills water tanks, giving you a fresh water tank for the clean net. The RockDock is also able to heat the cloth of the cloth, ensuring that bacteria have no place to grow on the fibers.

The S8 Pro Ultra is equipped with the same dual-roller system, although both are automatically raised during wipe-only mode. this is useful to keep the freshly cleaned floor as clean as possible. The other benefit is that the roller and internal mechanics of the S8 Pro Ultra will not be damaged while vacuuming up a heavy spill.

With this, Roborock is also coming out with a new handheld option, the Dyad Pro. If you’re just looking for raw power, the Dyad will be your best bet at 17,000 Pa. The Dyad Pro can clean and mop floors at once, just like robot vacuum options, though it can fit into tighter spaces.

Overall, the new S8 series looks like a great new set of robot vacuums and vacuums from Roborock. If it can build and improve on last year’s S7 series, the S8, S8+ and S8 Pro ultra are likely contenders for the best vacuums of the year, and it’s only January.
