Your old Xbox pads died so the new recycled Remix controller can live
With Earth Day fast approaching, Microsoft has released a brand new Xbox controller to celebrate the occasion, which uses reclaimed materials and reclaimed plastic to give the Remix Special Edition its own style. The Remix Special Edition Xbox Controller is now available for pre-order just in time for Earth Day, offering a look and feel that screams “I’m Green!” A third of the controller is made up of shredded materials from recycled Xbox controllers and reclaimed plastic. Nothing says Earth Day like a cool controller made from recycled materials, so Microsoft is offering something you can enjoy the occasion with. The Remix Special Edition celebrates our great planet with more than just visuals. Using a mechanical recycling process called regrind, parts of old Xbox controllers have been reused in a third of the Remix’s construction along with other reclaimed plastics and post-consumer resins from other sources of reclaimed materials such as covers of vehicle headlights, CDs and plastic jugs.

The Remix Special Edition is inspired by natural tones found around the world and comes packed with a rechargeable battery pack, a topographic texture pattern on the triggers, bumpers and side grips, and all the buttons you’d expect to see on an Xbox Series X| S controller.
