Ice-T And Coco Austin Defend Viral Video of 7-Year-Old Daughter Amid Backlash

Ice-T and Coco Austin are speaking out after being criticized again for their parenting skills.

The criticism started after the TV personality posted a Instagram wrap up her family’s Tuesday dancing to TikTok while sporting coordinating Christmas pajamas.

In one clip, their 7-year-old daughter Chanel joins the dance party by dancing in her best Tina Belcher impersonation from the animated series Bob’s Burgers.

“Gotta love family time! The adults in our family were doing a TikTok and Chanel comes in the middle to make a move to make us laugh. She likes to joke,” the 43-year-old wrote in the caption of the video.

The footage, which shows Chanel taking in her family’s attention as she laughs and dances as they cheer, sparked a debate among the model’s followers who questioned whether her dance moves were appropriate.

One Instagram user wrote: “I don’t find this okay, especially on social media. There are so many sick minds here, this child’s safety and privacy should be better protected. But to each his own.”

Another commented: “This is a child. What’s wrong with you?”

“SMH just whyyyy, that’s not ok!” one commenter wrote.

Trying to clarify the meaning behind the reel, Austin responded to a commenter that Chanel’s dance moves were just, “poking fun at a character from Bob’s Burgers,” Entertainment Tonight reports.

Other fans began doubling down in defense of the longtime couple, who married in 2002.

“Obviously she’s doing Tina, everyone, boil and watch some Bob’s Burgers,” one person wrote.

Another commented: “She’s having fun, don’t analyze everything! GO CHANEL GO CHANEL GO!!”

Ice-T, who previously has clapped back against criticism from other parents, apparently came in to avoid scrutiny with a post about it. Instagram ACCOUNT. His post reads: “Everyone’s gonna hate you anyway … so you might as well give them a reason.”

The “Law & Order: SVU” actor captioned the post: “Christmas is over. My advice is to go into 2023 with this attitude if you want to WIN.”

Last month, during an appearance on “The Tamron Hall Show,” a teary-eyed Austin opened up about feeling like she’s “under the microscope all the time” about her parenting skills.

“I’m under a microscope all the time and you don’t listen to me what good you do,” Austin told Hall. “You don’t hear the good, you only hear a lot of bad. And I know I’m a good mother.”

Austin added: “I’ve dedicated the last six years, putting everything aside, my career, everything, just for him. And you just want some love, you just want some respect from people.”

In September 2021, speaking at “View”, Ice-T also shared his thoughts on people on social media attacking their parents.

“The first rule of the Internet: Don’t pay attention to anything anyone says on the Internet,” he said at the time.

“Worry about people coming up to you and saying things in your real life. These are the people you should be concerned with,” Ice-T continued. “The Internet is the world. The world is talking, so I don’t pay attention.”
