The Jan. 6 House Select Committee investigating Donald Trump’s role in the 2021 Capitol riots has released another set of interview transcripts.
Included in the latest release are some big names from Trumpworld, including Donald Trump Jr, Kimberly Guilfoyle and Stephen Miller.
There are also White House insiders who turned against Trump, including Stephanie Grisham and Alyssa Farah Griffin, as well as other key figures including Washington DC Mayor Muriel Bowser and Steven Sund of the Capitol Police.
Among the revelations, Melania Trump rejected the suggestion to meet Jill Biden as part of the transition, wanting to stay aligned with the West Wing – in contrast to her position throughout the presidency. She also didn’t trust Mark Meadows.
Meanwhile, Don Jr. could not explain the whereabouts of $240 million raised by the Trump campaign after the 2020 election. His testimony included several moments where he was unable to recall events or conversations.
With the new Congress taking office on January 3, the committee will be disbanded. He released his full report before Christmas.
Tomorrow, Mr Trump’s finances will be in the spotlight when a House committee is expected to release the former president’s tax returns.
