BOISE, Idaho – MaLeigha Menegatti’s gold medal finish in the women’s 800 meters highlighted Boise State’s weekend in Washington. The Broncos split their squad, sending student-athletes to the UW Indoor Preview and the Spokane Indoor Challenge.
Menegatti won Boise State’s only individual title of the weekend at the Spokane Indoor Challenge, topping the podium in the women’s 800 meters. Her time of 2:05.70 is the third fastest in program history.
Sophomore Anita Taviore has also etched her name in the record book. Her silver medal finish in the women’s 400 meters was the fifth-fastest in program history (55.61). Sophomore Alison Kremer secured third place in the women’s high jump.
The women’s 4x400m relay wrapped up the meet, with the team of Alyssa Cullen, Menegatti, Nyenuchi Okemgbo and Taviore earning Boise State’s runner-up bronze medal finish.
In Seattle, the Broncos’ distance team won the first two games of the UW Indoor Preview. Sophomores Abby Kendrick and Lauren Larson scored gold medals in events one and two, respectively, and set personal bests.
Freshman Kaiya Robertson was the first Bronco to cross the finish line in the women’s 3,000 meters, placing 20th.
In the men’s 3,000m, sophomore Ahmed Ibrahim finished seventh among 73 runners in the field.

The Broncos will split their squad again, sending runners and jumpers to Lubbock, Texas for the Texas Tech Open and Multis, Jan. 26-28. The distance crew will head to Seattle, Wash., for the UW Invitational, Jan. 27-28.
