All Olympia champions are eligible for life to compete in any show within the Olympia division they have won. For example, 2022 Mr. Olympia Hadi Choopan will be allowed to compete in any competition he wants in the men’s open division, including the Mr. Olympia every year.
Outside of this guideline, athletes must earn the right to step onto the Olympia stage each year. In previous years, competitors could win a show or qualify by placing in the top three in the Olympia Qualification System points, which rewarded competitors who did not win a show but placed consistently well in multiple shows.
The 2023 parameters for qualification will not include the points system. Only the top five of Mr. Olympia 2022, the top three in other Olympia 2022 competitions and the winners of competitions during the qualifying phase will earn invitations to compete in Olympia 2023. This phase runs from 21 November 2022 to 9 October 2023.
