Prince Harry Reveals Texts Between Kate Middleton and Meghan Markle, Claims King Charles Leaked Feud

Prince Harry isn’t afraid to include the bills in his memoir, Spare, which is officially published today.
Previously leaked excerpts of the book reveal the tense exchange between Catherine, Princess of Wales, and Meghan, Duchess of Sussex, days before the Sussexes’ 2018 wedding, claiming Kate made Meghan cry after she asked for “all the dresses” for the flower. girls to be redone. As it turns out, Harry even includes the actual text messages from their fight in his book.
“Charlotte’s dress is too big, too long, too wide,” Kate reportedly wrote to Meghan, referring to Princess Charlotte’s flower girl dress. Harry notes in the book that the dresses are made from measurements taken on a previous outfit. “She cried when she tried it on at home,” writes Kate.
Meghan reminds Kate that a tailor who can make alterations is already at Kensington Palace, writing: “Okay and I told you the tailor has been around since 8am. Here. At PK. Can you take him Charlotte to change it, how are other mothers doing?”

However, Kate wants “all the dresses to be reworked”. She allegedly quotes the advice of her bridal designer, Sarah Burton of Alexander McQueen, who agrees.
Meghan then asks Kate if she knows the stress she’s under due to the drama surrounding her father, Thomas Markle.
“Meg asked if Kate was aware of what was happening now. With her father,” Harry writes. “Kate said she knew, but the dresses. And the wedding is in four days!”
Meghan replies: “Yes, Kate, I know….”

Harry adds that Kate had “problems with the way Meg was planning her wedding. Something about a party for the page boys? She was going back and forth.”
Meghan reportedly texted the Princess of Wales, “I’m not sure what else to say. If the dress doesn’t fit, then please take Charlotte to see Ajay. He’s been waiting all day.”
“Okay,” Kate replies.
Harry writes that, when he returned home, he found his future wife “crying” on the floor.
When tabloids reported that Meghan had made Kate cry months later, the two couples had a secret meeting at Meghan and Harry’s Nottingham Cottage home on December 10, 2018. Together, the four revealed that King Charles III may have been behind the revealed story.
“We all gathered in our little front annex and this time there was no small talk: Kate got down to business immediately by admitting that the stories in the papers that made Meg cry were completely false,” Harry writes. He adds that Kate is alleged to have said: “I know, Meghan, I was the one who made you cry.”
When it came to taking action on setting the record straight, Kate became “shocked” while William gave “sounding evasions of support”. When they realized no action would be taken, the Sussexes decided to focus on who leaked the story to the tabloids.
“We went round and round,” Harry continues. “The list of suspects became extremely small. Finally, finally, Willy caved and admitted that, ah, while we were on tour in Australia, he and Kate had gone to dinner with Pa. [King Charles III] and Camilla. And, sadly, he awkwardly said he ‘could have let it’ slide and that there was a row between the two couples.”
The admission shocked Meghan and Harry. “I put my hand to my face. Meg froze. There was a heavy silence. So now we know,” he writes. “I told Willy about all the people you should have known. He nodded. He knew. More silence. It was time for them to go.”
Meghan spoke about the incident during a 2021 interview with Oprah Winfrey, in which she dismissed the tabloid’s story.
“I don’t think it’s right for her to go into detail [the fight], because she apologized. And I have forgiven him. What was hard to overcome was being blamed for something that not only did I not do, but that happened to me,” the duchess said at the time. “And people who were part of our wedding went to our communications team and saying, “I know it didn’t happen.”
